Mohs Micrographic Surgeon

Lead the Mohs service line at a practice with an established dermatology and plastic surgery referral base. On-site histopathology workflow and reconstruction support in a single facility.

- Flexible — surgical days scheduled around case volume
Responsibilities
- Perform Mohs micrographic surgery for cutaneous malignancies
- Read intraoperative frozen sections and direct stage-by-stage margin control
- Plan and perform reconstruction, or coordinate closure with the plastic surgery team
- Manage pre-operative consultation, informed consent, and post-operative follow-up
- Partner with referring dermatologists on case selection and surveillance
Requirements
- MD or DO with board certification or board eligibility in Dermatology
- Fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery (ACGME MSDO or ACMS)
- Demonstrated independent Mohs case volume
- Active, unrestricted California medical license
- Current DEA registration and professional liability coverage
- Eligible to contract as an independent contractor
Preferred
- Advanced reconstruction experience including flaps and grafts
- Established referral relationships in Orange County
- Interest in growing a dedicated Mohs service line
How compensation works
Every clinical position at Allure MD is an independent contractor engagement. There is no base salary and no hourly rate. Compensation is entirely production-based — you earn a percentage of the collections generated by the patients you treat.
- You are paid on what you produce, with no ceiling.
- The practice provides the facility, equipment, clinical and front-office support, scheduling, and patient flow.
- You retain control of your schedule and clinical judgment within the practice's protocols.
- The specific percentage varies by role and service line and is discussed during the interview process.
As an independent contractor you are responsible for your own taxes, benefits, and professional liability coverage. We are glad to walk serious candidates through the full economics, including recent production for the role.
